I grew up in Washington County, Kentucky and would drive through Shaker Village on old US 68 on the way to Lexington. We lived out of the state during the restoration and came back in early 1969. We have visited many times since, including numerous overnight stays. Kentucky can be proud of the Shaker heritage and that we have made the village a state treasure. A visit is an unforgettable experience and everyone should have the opportunity.
