Patrick & Glenda
Bloomington, Indiana
I first visited Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in the late 1970’s or early 1980’s, when I hosted a bus tour of church people who wanted to learn more about Shaker heritage. In the 1990’s, my husband and I began to visit occasionally, always finding the peaceful atmosphere a much-needed break from the pace of today’s world.
For the last few years Patrick and I have come once or twice a year to enjoy the historic buildings, the farm animals and the reminders of our agrarian past. We appreciate the simple, utilitarian way of life Shaker Village represents. We enjoy the opportunity to participate in tours, hikes, and other activities or to wander on our own, relaxing in this incredible restored village. I recommend Shaker Village to everyone, to come visit the past and enjoy the present.
