From my first visit to Shaker Village nearly 30 years ago and upon each repeat visit, I’m in awe of the place in such a way that I’m not sure my words can adequately describe.

There is a pastoral beauty, a soothing and relaxed feel, and a peacefulness that makes this definitely a Pleasant Hill.

The Village buildings are majestic and powerful, yet simple and welcoming. The grounds with miles of stone fencing across rolling hills are a scenic wonder. The dining offers many unique and flavorful foods, while making it a challenge to “Shaker your plate.” And the guest rooms located within the historically preserved Shaker dwellings is yet another unbelievable experience.

Whether it’s discovering more about the Shakers or enjoying the hospitality of the fine Shaker Village staff, I have an outstanding experience each time I visit that Pleasant Hill in Kentucky.
